Facebook offers broadcasters new options

PALO ALTO, CA – With more TV viewers connecting on Facebook during their favorite broadcast programs, especially in primetime, the social media behemoth unveiled a new set of tools and resources aimed at broadcasters.

In a post this week, partner engineering director Bob Morgan said that the resources are designed to more deeply engage fans around the programming that matters most to them and the content they love to share with friends.

The new tools include apps that allow viewers to submit photos and videos to broadcasters; new custom icons for TV shows and sporting events for viewers to share what they’re watching; a new broadcast voting resource for contest and award shows; and a native media polling product specifically for TV show Facebook pages.
