EBOX signs first two clients in Abitibi

VAL D’OR, Que. – After saying in July it would begin offering Internet, telephone and television as a third party internet access provider, Québec independent provider, EBOX announced Tuesday morning it had connected its first two clients in Val d’Or in northwestern Québec, using Cablevision’s infrastructure. Cablevision, a Bell subsidiary in the Abitibi region, has seen competition arrive recently with Videotron interconnecting recently, too. EBOX is saying rates are 50% cheaper than its main rival and it will also allow its clients to keep their own modems, as long as they are compatible with their equipment.
